{"id":2311,"date":"2020-08-05T07:27:35","date_gmt":"2020-08-05T05:27:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/64.227.66.199\/product\/minikatalog-marianne-heske\/"},"modified":"2025-04-11T16:47:22","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T14:47:22","slug":"minikatalog-marianne-heske","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/afmuseet.dev10.dekodes.no\/nettbutikk\/en\/product\/minikatalog-marianne-heske\/","title":{"rendered":"Marianne Heske &#8211; tour-Retour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mini-Catalogue published in conjunction with the exhibition<em>\u00a0Marianne Heske &#8211; tour \u2013 Retour<\/em>\u00a0(10.29.2014 \u2013 04.05.2015).<\/p>\n<p>In 1980 Heske created a historic work by moving a 350 year old log cabin,\u00a0Gjerdel\u00f8a, from Tafjord in Norway to Paris.\u00a0Project Gjerdel\u00f8a\u00a0was Heske\u2019s artistic project for the XI Biennale de Paris and was exhibited at the Pompidou Centre. The log cabin was later moved from Paris to Norway again, where it was exhibited at Henie Onstad Art Center, before subsequently being returned to its place of origin exactly one year after it was first dismantled.\u00a0Project Gjerdel\u00f8a\u00a0has been recognized as a key work in Norwegian art history in general, and in Norwegian Conceptual art in particular. Marianne Heske (b. 1946) is without doubt one of the most important of those who adopted the working methods and the inner logics of Conceptual art but transformed them into a personal expression.<\/p>\n<p>For the exhibition\u00a0tour \u2013 Retour, Marianne Heske resumed and developed the project by yet again moving the log cabin from its original location in Tafjord to Astrup Fearnley Museet in Oslo. The original\u00a0Gjerdel\u00f8a\u00a0was installed next to a newly produced cast of the log cabin in a white, transparent resin and together they constitute a new work and the exhibition\u00a0tour \u2013 Retour. The installation also contained the painting Fra Gudvangen (1843) by the Norwegian artist Adolph Tidemand (1814-1876), on loan from the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, which contextualized the appropriation of the national landscape in Heske\u2019s oeuvre. tour &#8211; Retour was a process, a transformation and a displacement, addressing temporality and the very notion of art. Beyond its self-reflecting nature, it introduced historical references and narratives that included Norwegian Romanticism and autobiographical elements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Curators: Gunnar B.
