I fully embraced the immense material of which the visible and invisible world is made up; I was always careful to filter it into the great inventory of my own personal point of view, under the banner of: \u00abI am my body\u00bb. <\/em> 
\u2014 Isabella Ducrot, A Woman\u2019s Life<\/em> (2021) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writing Art<\/strong> introduces a new series of events exploring recent works in the Astrup Fearnley Collection through the practice of ekphrasis. In collaboration with poet Ibrahim Nasser, Head of Education Marie Vallestad will guide participants through selected artworks and creative writing sessions. Audiences are invited to experience the artworks through their own poetic interpretations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series opens with Isabella Ducrot<\/strong> and her work Almost Divine I<\/strong><\/em>. Born in Naples in 1931, Ducrot is an Italian artist and writer who lives and works in Rome. Her practice is deeply rooted in a lifelong fascination with textiles and embraces a wide range of references, from philosophy and religious iconography, to folklore and craft. At the same time, her approach to making is infused with an almost childlike joy in playing with fabrics, paper, paint, and glue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events will be held in English. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
